Little did I know, eleven years ago when I started working at Elk River Canoe Rental, that I would someday be its proud owner. I remember the first day I started working for Linda and Bill. I was thrown right in with with all the other workers and I really did not know how the whole operation worked. When the day was over, I decided that I really enjoyed the beauty of the river. After that day, The Elk seemed to have a special effect on me. I worked every summer from then on. In November of 2004, I purchased the business from Linda and Bill. I hope that everyone who comes out to float enjoys the beauty of the river like I do. It has a special place in my heart and I am glad that other people get to experience it also. Being a native of Lincoln County, I never realized that so many people floated the Elk. I am so proud that Fayetteville and Lincoln County has such a beautiful and scenic river.

"It's like a natural high,"says Ben. "It's really a good feeling just watching people enjoy themselves and the great outdoors." A dream come true for this Lincoln County hometown native who now owns his own business which is located in a relaxed, outdoor environment, near the water, and in his beautiful hometown area of Tennessee.
